Tony and Jeanie's Wedding at the Cliff House

Here are some of my favorite pictures from Jeanie and Tony's wedding at the Cliff House, in San Francisco. It was April, so a bit windy and cold, but also sunny and magical.  How cool is it to spend the best day of your life with all your loved ones in San Francisco?

The Cliff House is beautiful inside, especially in the afternoon, when the sunlight filters in through the windows. I love taking pictures of details at a wedding, right before the guests walk in.

And here's one of my favorite images, even more so because completely unexpected and unplanned! I love that Jeanie is wearing Tony's jacket.  Brides need to stay warm too!

Here are some images from the ceremony. At the Cliff House you can get married overlooking Ocean Beach.

Tip for all brides and grooms: kiss for a long time! Help out your photographer capture that first kiss after you become a married couple

And here's my favorite part: pictures with just the couple. Jeanie and Tony took some time apart from everyone else to walk around with me. It was fun and relaxing to have time to themselves and to just be creative and romantic.

And lastly, a few pictures of Jeanie's awesome traditional Korean dress.  A surprise for me as well.

One very last detail...I love to take time to really "look" as I photograph a wedding and sometimes the smallest details are the most meaningful.

 Congratulations Jeanie and Tony!

Congratulations Natalie and John!

I am looking forward to Natalie and John's wedding this Saturday!

In the meantime, I would love to share a few of my favorite images from our engagement session together in Sutro Heights.

John and Natalie are such a fun couple to be around! Their love and chemistry really came through during our time together. They were playful and relaxed and creative. It really helped me to relax and enjoy the day as well.

Their little dog Brutus joined us and kept us entertained and smiling. As you all know already, I LOVE dogs and they are always welcome to my shoots

And here's a close up of Natalie's engagement ring. Gorgeous!

A special Thank You goes to Megan, for coming along and for helping out. See you at the wedding!

If not now, when?

As you probably have read in my bio, I come from Italy. I have been disgusted my entire life by the portrayal of women in the Italian media and by the behavior of some of my fellow Italians, including men in the highest government and business positions.

According to the most recent report (2010) from the World Economic Forum on Gender Gap, Italy is at number 74, out of 134 countries, in a list that measures the differences in opportunities between men and women. The United States are at number 19.

As a photographer I mostly work with women and I try to represent women in a way that is respectful of our beauty, intelligence and dignity. And I am committed to supporting women business owners.
I usually only blog about my work, but today I am making an exception. I can work because generations of women before me fought for the right to work. And I am lucky to live in San Francisco where I am treated with dignity and respect and where my work is valued. I am lucky because I don't have to see this on television every day.

Italian women are taking to the streets on February 13th to show Italy and the world that it's time to stop gender based discrimination in Italy. Women deserve to be treated better. Women deserve real equality.
Although I won't be there, I will be thinking of my fellow citizens, the women and the men who join them, to say BASTA. Italy is not a country for women right now. It's time to change this.
