Mitch and Molly: San Francisco Engagement Photos

Congratulations Mitch and Molly, we are so close to your wedding in Sonoma! I am counting the days until I get to photograph you again.

I loved our engagement photo session together: Mitch is passionate about photography and we collaborated in choosing the locations for this shoot. As I said before on this blog, I LOVE working with couples who have a special love for visual storytelling and art.

Mitch and Molly are lucky to be working with a great wedding planner, Lily Castro, who came along for support and to take care of their daughter Aislinn, so she could be in our photos too. This was so much fun!

And we ended our afternoon together waiting for the right time to take pictures at the Embarcadero. Timing is everything in photography! These are my favorite images from our shoot together.

A special shout out to the fabulous Angela LaFlamme for Molly's make up.

Renee's and Sean's Engagement

Here are a few of my favorite images from Renee and Sean's Engagement Session at Lindencroft Farm in Ben Lomond, near Santa Cruz.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) you can read all about it and see more images on the Locally Grown Weddings blog.

In the meantime, here are some of my very favorites!

All three of us love forests and Redwood trees. We were super careful as Renee is very allergic to poison oak. Sean and I paid particular attention to all the little green plants around us and scouted the area before we asked Renee to join him. Luckily we managed to stay away from any poison oak!

I like photos that have a vintage look, but not every image lends itself to it. These photos under peach trees were perfect for this artistic treatment.

Practicing for the bouquet shot!

And this last is one of my favorites. So romantic!

Thank you Sean and Renee for insisting on going to Lindencroft Farm. I think we got some great pictures because the place is like home for the two of you and we collaborated and chose the best spots together.

Less than 3 weeks to the wedding...

Leah and Justin's Engagement

Can't wait for Leah and Justin's wedding in beautiful Napa this Saturday!

When I met Justin, he was recovering from a motorcycle accident and couldn't even walk. Lucky for him, Leah is a physical therapist and helped him get better. She was amazing, taking care of Justin and planning their wedding.

Leah and I hit it off immediately: she is fun, creative, engaging and passionate about life.

I love taking pictures of details, such as rings. Justin and Leah helped with ideas and it became another way for us to collaborate.

We waited until Justin could walk again to schedule our engagement photo session together...what a difference in just a few months!

And of course we ended up having a lot of fun!

I can't wait to see them both in just a few days...

Julie and Michael's Engagement

I am looking forward to Julie and Michael's wedding next weekend.
Last month I took their engagement photos, here are just a few of my favorites.

Julie is a wonderful photographer and Michael runs his own film making company, so it was fun collaborating on the images. Michael had lots of ideas and we had fun trying new poses and settings.

Always tell your photographer your ideas!  I want your pictures to tell YOUR story and reflect the love and realtionship you have built during the years.

Thank you Michael and Julie for a great shoot!

North Beach Engagement Photos: Marco and Lindsey

I met Marco through BAIA, a wonderful group of Italian professionals workings in the Bay Area. Marco is Italian, from Canada and is planning his wedding with Lindsey.

Lindsey picked a city theme for our engagement shoot together. Most of Lindsey and Marco's family will be traveling to the wedding from out of town and Lindsey thought it would be great to show a little bit of San Francisco in the engagement pictures.

Marco and Lindsey are really planning everything together: they love to be creative and to think of all the little personal touches they can add to their wedding. Marco is even designing his and his groomsmen's ties!

The weather was really unpredictable the day of the shoot, but we got lucky and it didn't rain. After walking in North Beach, we decided to head for some greenery and more intimate pictures. I always encourage couples to bring extra outfits, it can be fun to change half way through our session together.

Only at the end of the session I found out Marco and Lindsey have a Vespa! WHAAAT? We had to take a final picture!

And here's the extra bonus: Marco wanted a fun kiss in front of the Italian flag in North Beach. Thank you both for a wonderful day in the city!
